CRHC Annual Board Retreat

Every year, the Center's board members, staff, and a few guests gather to celebrate the accomplishments of the previous year, plan for the upcoming year, and learn more about rural health in Colorado. The 2005 meeting was held at the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Conference Center. The meeting included budget reports and signing, a primer on family medicine, and a watermelon-seed-spitting contest. If you would like any of the pictures full-size, please e-mail CRHC at: info@coruralhealth.org

President Brenda Higgins, Limon, opened the retreat with a song.

Toloa Pearl, Westcliffe, leads her team through a strategic planning exercise.

Vonie Weaver, Wray, took her group outside for a different perspective.

Peter Konrad, Konrad Consulting, shared his insight on budget reports.

While Maribeth Berry, Wray, pays close attention, Brenda plays with her fan.

The conference center at Mt. Princeton was a comfortable setting for the retreat.

It was difficult to stay inside though.

Randy Evetts, Pueblo, gets some one-on-one coaching from Peter.

Mark Deutchman, MD, provided an overview of family physician programs.

Bob Omer, Meeker, enjoys the setting with Mark.

This competitive group couldn't resist a watermelon seed-spitting contest. Here, Lisa Filipczak, Denver, shows off her style.

Ron Seedorf appears to be amazed by Rich Rivera's prowess at this "sport."

And we have a winner! Rich Rivera, Creede, was able to "out-spit" everyone. One of his seeds even wound up in the next county.

As with previous years, the education was great, and the company even better.
