Colorado Rural Mobile Health Project (CRMHP)

Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics (RMYC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to children and adolescents through accessible, quality healthcare. RMYC’s sole goal is to reduce indicators of morbidity and mortality in children and adolescents through accessible, quality healthcare. RMYC consist of a network of clinics, including three traditional pediatric clinics and more than 20 satellite clinics co-located with other community organizations.

RMYC also owns and operates two mobile health units that travel around the greater Denver metropolitan area providing health and dental care to uninsured children. All services are $10, per patient, per visit. Both units are 40-foot long clinics on wheels, each with two exam rooms and a waiting room/laboratory between them. One unit, the health mobile, provides preventive and minor acute healthcare services, while the other, the dental mobile, provides preventive oral healthcare.

Funding was provided to expand medical and dental services offered by the two mobile units into rural Colorado – Elbert, Lake, Park, and Summit counties; as well as northeastern Colorado. RMYC hope to expand services into northern Colorado, the western slope, and the eastern plains. The objectives are to provide affordable health and dental care in rural communities; provide accessible health and dental care in rural communities; improve health of rural communities by providing preventive healthcare and management of chronic healthcare issues; and improve the oral healthcare of rural communities by providing oral healthcare, oral hygiene education, and referrals for restorative care.

RMYC received $249,500.00
