Introducing: Ouray (you-ray)
Ice climbing enthusiasts have been coming to Ouray since the seventies to ply their craft on a few of the steep classics in the Uncompagre Gorge,such as “Stone Free” and “Tangled Up in Blue”. Wood-shafted ice axes, flexible crampons, wool stocking caps and gloves, and a considerable degree of skill and moxie comprised the tools of the day.  It wasn’t until some enterprising local climbers decided to spray a nearby water source over the edges of the mile long gorge that the Ouray ice climbing scene began to evolve into its present state.  To see more visit:  The Ouray Ice Park.

Introducing: Telluride (tell-you-ride)
The Blues and Brews festival, one of the most scenic and enduring music festivals in the country, takes place every September in Telluride, a world-famous resort town in the heart of the Rockies. Introducing: Red Rocks
Nestled in the Rocky Mountain Foothills fifteen miles west of Denver, there stands a symbol of nature's unparalleled majesty. Red Rocks is a geologically formed, open-air Amphitheatre that is not duplicated anywhere in the world. With Mother Nature as the architect, the design of the Amphitheatre consists of two, three hundred-foot monoliths (Ship Rock and Creation Rock) that provide acoustic perfection for any performance. Introducing: Chris Davenport
You don’t have to look far to find world class skiing in Colorado.  Of the 34 ski resorts currently operating in the state, many of them boast some of the best terrain you’ll find anywhere.  However, many residents who have pushed past their limits in-bounds are now seeking the out-of-bounds experience that ski mountaineering has to offer.  Colorado is home to 54 fourteen-thousand-foot peaks and one CO resident, Chris Davenport, took it upon himself to climb and ski all of them in less than a year. With 637 thirteen-thousand-foot peaks also housed in the state, Coloradans will be pushing the envelope of extreme skiing for years to come.
