Through THE Consortium, all SHIP hospitals have the opportunity to participate in a statewide collaborative project to focus on creating and refining quality improvement systems and processes with the goal of meeting electronic health record (EHR) Meaningful Use criteria.
Direct Assistance with Quality Improvement to reach Meaningful Use: Meaningful Use is using certified EHR technology to improve quality, safety, efficiency and reduce health disparities; engage patients and families in their health care; improve care coordination; improve population and public health all while maintaining privacy and security. Through SHIP funding, Consortium members can receive on-site process and quality improvement assistance to achieve these quality measures and improve care delivery. This in-depth process improvement technical assistance is in addition to the REC services that will ensure your system can pull the meaningful use measures.
