CRHC offers emergency preparedness resources to RHCs, ranging from emergency equipment distribution to emergency management plan templates.

Colorado Rural Health Clinics Hospital Preparedness Program

Colorado's rural health clinics were chosen for an opportunity to receive up to $2000 in grant funds from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Hospital Preparedness Program for emergency preparedness activities. The goal is to provide funding to assist Rural Health Clinics in achieving high levels of readiness for disaster events or emergency incidents, whether natural or man-made. The RHC portion of the grant program runs from August 2009 - April 2010.

Deliverables include:

  • 800 MHz Drills
    • 2 drills required
  • IS-700 Course
    • 2 clinic staff members take the web-based training and submit certificates of completion
  • Healthcare coalition
    • Each RHC must participate with their local emergency planning committee
  • Contact info for CVM and ESF8 Contacts in EOP
    • Each clinic adds their ESF8 and CVM contact to their contact page of their Emergency Operations Plan
